Liquid Soapmaking

Some photos from this weekend's Liquid Soapmaking class with industry veteran Marla Bosworth of Back Porch Soap Company

Marla

Cooking the soap in a crock pot.

Blending the soap with the stick blender & checking the soap's temperature. You want it to be around 160°F.

Diluting the cooked soap paste and getting out all the lumps.

Checking the pH. You want the pH to be 9 or under.

  2. You have inspired me to try making liquid soap again. I have always found it very tedious and time consuming more so than CP soap. Thanks for your inspiration :)

  3. No, thank YOU! I've forwarded your kind words to Marla. SHE'S the real inspiration. Please write when you make your batch of liquid soap. Would love to hear how it came out.
